Caretaking

We take great pride in maintaining Indian Hill Cemetery's grounds to the highest standards. Basic maintenance is included with the purchase of your burial plot which includes routine mowing and trimming, tree care (those that are planted by the cemetery) and leaf mulching and removal.

Indian Hill Cemetery also provides for the care and maintenance of the mausoleums, and the crypts and niches within the columbarium at no additional cost to the owner. This care and maintenance is provided from the income generated by the investment of Indian Hill Cemetery's Perpetual Fund, in accordance with the laws of Connecticut.

There are some instances where families wish to have additional or special care of a lot, mausoleum, or headstones performed; our staff is happy to accommodate. This could include higher care of grass, re-seeding, power washing, re-pointing and re-setting of headstones, annual plantings or pruning of bushes.

All of these special requests are currently performed on a case-by-case basis, and pricing is based on man hours and materials.
